Children and Online Exploitation

The unfortunate truth is, there are people who go online with the sole purpose of exploiting, manipulating or abusing children. Most online activities are not harmful when you take the right precautions, but you should be aware that the following could bring your children into contact with people who want to exploit them:

  • Online chatting
  • Photo sharing
  • Webcams
  • Sexting -- text messaging sexual messages
  • Online gaming
  • Social networking websites

If you're concerned about your child's safety online and you're looking for more information, please visit cybertip.ca.
